About a Prodigy Highlights Student Internship
We get it, you need an internship for school and for your resume
Our interns will receive college credit for their internship with Prodigy and we work with your college’s student internship office and/or major department to make sure you can work with us. We help you to complete any internship requirements such as a final project, weekly summaries, and hourly work logs. We will also encourage you use us a reference when applying for jobs or other internships. A reference letter, Linkedin recommendations for you to use will also be given.
Real work, no coffee fetching or paper shredding
While interning for us, you will do real work. Work that makes a difference. Work that can be fun, interesting, challenging, stressful, and rewarding. Our interns will be expected to deliver work on time with set deadlines and expectations. But…we know that you’re interning to get experience. So we’re here to help you and want you to ask questions. We want you to do your best. Internships are meant to help you learn and to give you experiences and teaching moments that you can carry forward. We want you to grow and mature into a great potential coworker for your first job after college. We consider ourselves teachers. To quote Ben Franklin, “Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn.”
The 21st century office…online
Like many of our full-time and contracted communications and media employees, your work will be done online with delivery of work via email or other online communications platforms. Like the rest of the world, the 21st century office is moving online and out of the physical office. You will have weekly online webcam meetings with team members and your internship mentor to discuss weekly goals and to just talk about your experiences. More and more communications and digital technology jobs are moving to remote hiring, so our internship helps prepare you for this new reality.
